We will continue with the Halloween theme this year and encourage students to dress in costume. All teachers entering students in the event are expected to help out that day. Please limit each student’s total performance time to 5 minutes or less and no more than 2 songs. Depending on the number of participants, we will have multiple recitals.
As in past years, pieces may be traditional repertoire and/or personally-created pieces; including arrangements, transcriptions, compositions, lead sheets, and self-standing improv (solo, duet, or ensemble), and ensemble repertoire. Personally-created pieces and improv should be well-prepared and performance ready, improv having a concise and coherent form.
Performers will have assigned seats in the choir loft in order of performance and do not need to announce themselves before their piece. They should only bow once (after playing) to save time. We will take a group photo at the beginning of the recital and save time for lots of clapping and cheering at the end of the recital. If the student is playing two songs, the audience will be asked to hold applause until the end of their entire performance and not clap in between – this also saves time!
Please submit your registration form to Kristen Celusniak by October 10th.
